A topical numbing cream is applied to the skin, Then, I’ll draw your blood and spin it down to separate the growth factors and white blood cells. The PRF is extracted and then prepared to either inject under the skin or apply with a microneedling session (or both!).
Pre Treatment
Post Treatment
- Redness or sensitivity might be present for a few days.
- Use Tylenol as needed for any soreness.
- Peeling may start 3-5 days after the procedure if used with microneedling.
- Do not pick or scratch at treated skin.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after procedure.
- Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
- If exposed to the sun, use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.
- May use makeup after 24 hours.
- May restart regular skin care routine including exfoliants (retinol, glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid) in 1-3 days, or once skin is no longer sensitive and healing.

- Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to an event. Redness, swelling and peeling may be apparent in that time period.
- Let the provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
- Avoidance of Accutane for the past 6 months is required.
- Refrain from any laser procedures and waxing for 7 days prior to procedure.
- Discontinue topical retinoids 24 hours before treatment to reduce sensitivity.
- If pregnant, you must receive clearance from OB/GYN.
- It is recommended to discontinue the use of Aspirin, NSAIDS, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Ginseng, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E or any other essential fatty acids 1 week before and after treatment to minimize bruising or bleeding from injections. Please consult with your primary physician prior to discontinuing any medications.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your injections. All of these factors may increase risk of bruising and swelling.
- Starting Arnica supplements at least 2 days prior to injections may help with bruising from injections.
